I read the first book and was impressed with the author's writing so I bought the second book and enjoyed reading it too.Now I am hooked and can't wait to find out what happen to Mason and crew. The book "Spheres of the Ryk-Tar" reminds me of the old sci fi books that I read as a boy. Like Andre Norton's, that I still read her books to this day.
The hero is back from the dead in a cyborg body and Garid a Ularian elf-man is to become the new hero? Just go on and buy it and lets keep S. P. Dorning writing.

I found the first book in the series very satisfying and acquired this sequel because of that. It is a satisfying read. I enjoyed the new characters and the new villains. While it's a middle book in a series, it moves satisfyingly through to a good stopping point, while leaving plenty of plot open for the conclusion. Mason Hawks continues to be a compelling hero. The story contains enough mystery to keep the reader guessing through the read about the outcomes for various characters.
